The Complaints and Sanctions Commission has started the recount of 114 boxes for the Berat region.
The day before, 46 boxes were recounted, while today the rest is being continued.
So far, the KAS has re-evaluated a ballot paper from the Voting Center 35/24, where the ballot was considered invalid, but from the re-evaluation it is valid in favor of the SMI.
Meanwhile, two contested ballot papers of VC 32/71 from the CEAZ are valid, one for the DP and the SP, and by the KAS are considered valid, one for the DP and the other for the SP.
YESTERDAY KAS REJECTED THE APPEAL REQUEST OF DP AND LS
The Complaints and Sanctions Commission decided yesterday to reject the request made by the PD and LSI for the rerun of the elections in the district of Vlora. “KAS with a majority of votes decided: to reject the appeal request 36 submitted by PDAN. Rejection of the appeal request 49 submitted by the SMI. Leaving in force the decision of the Commissioner for the result of the voting for the region of Vlora “, said the rapporteur of the complaint.
This is the third decision against the requests for repeat elections after a day ago, KAS rejected the requests of PD and LSI for re-voting and recount in Gjirokastra region and for repeat elections in Berat after claims that some voters had set fingerprints for more than 1 time. The KAS called the denunciations of opposition parties for violations in the voting process and in equipping the PEI insufficient.
Also, the Complaints and Sanctions Commission closed the counting process of 114 ballot boxes in the District of Berat, announcing that this process will resume today at 09:00. Recall that the KAS has decided to recount only the votes for electoral subjects and not those for candidates.
“For today we have to stop counting the boxes, this process will resume tomorrow at 9:00. Measures should be taken to secure the ballot boxes and tomorrow we will resume the session at 9 o’clock, in this room “, said Elvis Çefa, KAS rapporteur in yesterday’s session, announcing the closing of the process. The DP and the SMI have appealed the election results in 9 constituencies, in 5 of which, the SMI, unlike the DP, demands a re-evaluation and recount.
