What caused the coronavirus pandemic? The White House wants to give an answer to this question, so US intelligence agencies have already gained access to the so-called “treasure trove of genetic data that could be key to uncovering the origin of the Covid-19 coronavirus.”
It will take time to understand what sounds like a considerable amount of raw data, however agents are using high security supercomputers that also understand Mandarin language.
The investigation is part of a broader study to study the origin of the coronavirus. In March, the Chinese government refused to submit virus-related data to the World Health Organization and the US, a move that sparked suspicion.
So far, we have more questions than answers. Investigators have not yet found any conclusive evidence that the virus was deliberately spread.
The new data “treasure” is unlikely to fill all the gaps in our knowledge of the origin and evolution of the virus. Experts argue that even with a complete overview of the early genome of the virus, without the right context, it is unlikely that we will find its exact origin.
