The police fined with 288 thousand lekë – about 2300 euros – two drivers who were moving at infernal speed on the road Fier-Vlora.
The images published by the police show two cars type “Lamborghini” and “BMW” approaching the patrol station at a speed of 225 kilometers per hour. The cars were driven by persons of Kosovo origin and residence in Switzerland, who did not obey the order to stop.
However, they were stopped in the city of Vlora by other police officers and fined 168 thousand lekë the driver of “Lamborghini” and 120 thousand lekë the driver of BMW.
IB (40 years old) was driving a Lamborghini without license plates, while MN (36 years old) was driving a BMW behind him with similar speed, suggesting that the two were racing together.
The Fier-Vlora road, built in recent years according to European standards with wide lanes and high traffic divisions, has a speed limit of 110 kilometers per hour. It has recently become a serious problem as many drivers travel at breakneck speeds.
On June 25, the Gushi family tragically lost their lives on a part of this road – two parents Eduart and Silvana and daughters Anastasia (14 years old) and Eva (9 years old).
