The Minister of Health Ogerta Manastirliu says that the project for the construction of the factory for production of vaccines against coronavirus in Albania is in its first steps.
Invited to the show In front of the journalist Lutfi Dervishi, Manastirliu explained that the construction of this factory is a priority and the government is creating all the conditions.
“It is definitely one of those priorities that we have with the pharmaceutical market that in Albania, in addition to the production of drugs and manufacturing or drug production factories, it is possible to produce vaccines. Or and where to carry out various vaccine preparation processes.
This is a project which is in its first steps but which we, Prime Minister Rama has set in the priorities to move forward by creating all the opportunities to build this factory, to create the conditions for its construction.
Which provide a production of vaccines not only for the domestic market but having an even wider access, an approach to the region. Undoubtedly, one of our priorities in relation to the provision not only of vaccines but also of drug safety is the cooperation with the Turkish agency where very soon we will finalize a twinning memorandum with them. ”
About 85% of health personnel in the country have been vaccinated against Covid-19. The Minister of Health says that the goal is to increase the vaccination coverage of health personnel even more.
“So far we are in a good percentage of vaccine coverage, so we are in about 85% of health personnel. Of course some of the staff are still unvaccinated, those who have passed Covid-19 and are waiting for months to get vaccinated. But we will evaluate it step by step. So far the vaccine coverage is good but the goal is to increase it even more. ”- said Manastirliu in Përballë.
