At least 43 refugees are suspected to have drowned off the coast of Tunisia while 84 others have been rescued after a boat sank off the coast of Tunisia.
The ship had departed from the shores of Libya and was transporting refugees from Egypt, Sudan, Eritrea and Bangladesh, who were destined for the shores of Italy, but their voyage took another turn.
Libya is a frequent starting point for migrants aiming to arrive in Europe.
Since 2014, more than 20,000 migrants and refugees have died at sea while trying to reach Europe from Africa.
