China has accused NATO of creating conflict with the agreement reached by Western allies on joint action against Beijing’s aggressive policies. The Chinese Embassy in the European Union has appealed to the Atlantic Alliance to look rationally at China’s development, not to exaggerate it with various forms of Chinese threat; as well as not to use China’s legitimate interests and rights as an excuse to manipulate the policy of the NATO group of countries.
At the annual NATO summit in Brussels, China topped the list of security threats for the first time along with Putin and Russia.
The Chinese embassy press release stated that NATO’s allegations were defamatory of China’s peaceful development; a misjudgment of the international situation; and the continuation of the Cold War mentality.
Atlantic Alliance leaders have said they will take increasingly decisive decisions against Beijing building a nuclear arsenal. Adding that China’s space and cyber war, threaten the international order.
The G7 countries that met in Britain over the weekend criticized China for human rights in Xinjiang, autonomy in Hong Kong and demanded a full investigation into the origin of the coronavirus in China.
