Today, 25,000 doses of the Sputnik vaccine have arrived, to continue the process of mass vaccination throughout the country. The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu, from the Institute of Public Health, where the administration of doses of Sputnik vaccines took place, stated that so far there are over 936 thousand vaccines arrived in the country.
“With the arrival of 25 thousand Sputnik vaccines, we reach the total of vaccines received over 936 thousand vaccines from the contracts already concluded by the Albanian government. 823 thousand vaccines have been administered in total in terms of population groups, but also at risk groups, based on our combined vaccination plan “, said Manastirliu.
Stressing that we will continue with the national vaccination plan, Manastirliu said that the vaccination bandage will be reduced.
“We are now ready to reduce the vaccination band, starting from +59 years old, +58, +57 years old. Therefore, we invite all citizens to apply on the e-Albania portal to be part of the continuation of the vaccination calendar, also to contact directly the family doctor to get the date of vaccination “, said Manastirliu.
Speaking about the controlled epidemiological situation, Manastirliu again appealed to the citizens to continue to be careful and respect the health protocols established during the tourist season.
“Although currently in the country we have about 190 active positive cases and about 20 patients admitted to the Infectious Diseases Hospital who are being treated with maximum care by doctors, we must continue to have increased vigilance and care in the implementation of health protocols, even during this season, ie during the tourist season “, appealed Manastirliu.
A total of 823,053 doses of antiCOVID19 vaccine have been administered since the start of the vaccination process. Of these, 324,616 citizens received both doses of the vaccine.
