The World Health Organization’s special envoy to Britain, Dr David Nabarro, says it will be a long time before we see the end of Covid-19.

In an interview with Sky News, the doctor said that currently the eradication of the virus is not a reasonable goal for the world.
“Humanity will have to learn how to coexist with this virus. “This virus will not disappear soon, but there will be variants that will appear.” said Dr David Nabarro.
His comments were also echoed by Dame Anne Johnson, president of the Academy of Medical Sciences.
Dame Anne said that people would not want the lifting of restrictions to be delayed, rather the goal should be to minimize the amount of serious diseases caused by the virus.
She added that any reopening would be a “very well-judged decision” and that next week would be “absolutely critical” to collecting data on infections in the UK to decide whether the block should be extended or not. reports BBC.
