The Prime Minister of Northern Macedonia, Zoran Zaev, on Sunday expressed “satisfaction that the Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) closed the ethnic agenda and is now focused on the citizen, with its green agenda”.
On Saturday, the DUI, the party that inherited the former National Liberation Army, announced that the green agenda would be the main pillar of its party program. “Enough with the words Albanian, Macedonian, Serbian, Turkish, Vlach. We have citizens in the country. I want to welcome him because it is a step forward, especially when he comes from the largest ruling party in the Albanian political bloc. It is very important when politicians go out in public and give their word. It means commitment and obligation to implement it in practice. “I think this for the Social Democratic League (SDSM), but also for the DUI and all other political parties”, stated Zaev.
He stressed that citizens expect from SDSM and DUI, but also from the Besa Movement, the Albanian Democratic Party (DPA) and all other parties that are part of the governing coalition, to work in the future to strengthen rights. workers, work for the green agenda, environmental protection and economic development.
Marking the 19th anniversary of the formation of DUI, the leader of this party, Ali Ahmeti said that the green agenda as the main pillar comes after the realization of the agenda of the Ohrid Agreement, for the rights of Albanians. “We have established equality through the full implementation of the Ohrid Peace Agreement, the legalization of higher education in the Albanian language, decentralization, national symbols and culture, the Albanian language, equitable and adequate representation, NATO integration, receiving the green light for EU membership “, declared on Saturday the chairman of DUI, Ali Ahmeti.
The Albanian opposition has accused the DUI of giving up the rights of Albanians, which according to it have not yet been realized. “A party that came out of the war, since the red and black emblem, changed to blue, is trying to deceive the citizens, and especially the Albanians, with the color green. “Even without solving the national or thematic problems, as they claim to call them, today they said that they will deal with green work”, declared the spokesman of the opposition party, the Alliance for Albanians, Flakron Bexheti.
