A leader does not become such, only when he leads the government of a country; a politician has every opportunity to show his qualities, especially when he is not in power.
DP and Lulzim Basha, after April 25, when he failed to get the majority to govern, had the chance to undertake and lead an important process of reform and emancipation, where in all likelihood, he could become the protagonist and locomotive of change in Albanian society.
Which of course would be an opportunity to show that things can change and was offered to people as an alternative to tomorrow.
Political parties generally change and carry out major transformations when they are in difficult situations, generally after deep defeats.
It is not possible for this transformation to happen when you are in power, because in the first place the energies are focused towards the implementation of the promises given in the campaign, but also on the other hand, in this period all those people and groups that attract petty interests and personal benefits.
In the opposition, especially after a defeat, in a political force have remained those people who are its backbone, who have not abandoned it in difficult days and the premise of a great qualitative step is created.
A step that for a democratic party translates into a political process, starting with the election of the leader of the political force, the election of the new leadership, as well as the design of the new political platform for the next battles.
Because it is not only the governance, interest or focus of a party, but also the local elections, which are at the gate and have a chance to produce synergy and galvanize important and wider groups of people in the process.
A chance given to a political force to highlight, values, ideas, but of course CVs and profiles of politicians to be called upon to run.
The DP has become so obsessed with power that it has become an obsession. Once she left power in 2013, in the opposition battle she only talks about tenders, money, official positions, and of course to remove Rama and come to power himself.
There was an opportunity in these 8 years for the DP to produce a great political energy, to include as many people as possible, thus producing on the field and battle, and not in the laboratory, profiles of ministers and mayors, who could be offered to the public as an alternative to all that the majority brings out, but also as an opportunity to make the public debate in the country more rational and constructive.
DP after April 25, as it happened in 2017 and of course even earlier, “cries” for the result, was introduced to an unrealistic process to repeat the elections in some constituencies, while having the chance to overshadow the historic achievement of Edi Rama who won the third governing term like no one before in these 30 years.
But how could this happen? Of course, with a contest and internal election process in the DP, a model of democratic development would be created, where the debate would focus on content, and where a clash of political ideas and profiles would have taken place. Thus giving birth to models of leaders who would serve the DP to create a successful team.
But what is happening today: a process is being done that is simply done to justify Basha being at the helm of the DP again, when he can provide this quite simply by leading a democratic election process and dealing with the public.
That Basha intends to remain at the helm of the DP is not just a matter for party members, who may love him.
But it is a problem of the public, who see the opposition leader wire a possible alternative to run the country and lead the political processes that the country is facing.
The DP had a “golden” chance to produce these days a completely progressive model of reform and debate, which could put not only politics but also society in a reform drive, which the DP will provided the opportunity to present as many political values and profiles as possible.
The opposition that the opposition makes to the public debate only on power, posts, money and this debate is with people who day and night only think about posts and money blocks and prevents not only the DP, but also the society to be reformed.
Giving the opportunity for any signal of change or reform, start from Rama and the majority.
The “Gjekmarkaj” model is an example that shows how you can become an MP and even a minister tomorrow.
So only by cursing and attacking the opponent on television, which is what every normal person who comes from society with the desire to deal with politics and reveal his ideas and model.
Keeping people around you who just want to become police chiefs, watch directors, osheje and who knows what, is to make the hole for yourself, but also a society.
Because the country needs as soon as possible an opposition that gives dynamism to the country and shakes politics and society.
But also people as dynamic and sympathetic as possible to eradicate a poisoned language and environment, to bring a positive synergy that will sow positive values and debate on the ground.
If this happens, the coming of the DP to power is guaranteed: of course starting from the local government to the central one…
