Cases of thrombosis as a result of the coronavirus vaccine have also been highlighted in Greece where those vaccinated mainly with AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson have had problems.
According to Protothema, Director of Epidemiology Athena Linou conveyed concern about the cases of thrombosis which claims that in the coming days more cases may be added.
“I am afraid we will see other such cases. “Where it is possible to choose another vaccine, the recommendation is to avoid AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson vaccines because there is a risk of a thromboembolic event that is not a classic syndrome but a rare one.” added Linou.
Speaking about the course of the pandemic, Linou said that things are going well except yesterday where there was an increase in positive cases. As for vaccines, she said that they are delayed in vaccination and that they should reach more than 100,000 doses a day.
A young patient has shared his experience regarding the thrombosis he has suffered. Andreas Metaxakis, 35, from Crete, spoke about the two thrombi he suffered after his vaccination, stressing that he does not have any concomitant diseases. The young man managed to cope, is now in good health and has escaped danger, while his case is rarely being analyzed by experts.
“I was vaccinated with Astrazeneca on April 29, where I presented the classic symptoms that appear after each vaccination, fever, headache, to which I did not pay attention. I ignored. Then after a week I again had a headache and a little fever and left it again. Then I had migraine going on with 2 pills, until on May 10 I felt a burn on my leg and he died, paralyzed. Then I went to the hospital and they told me he had a thrombosis,He says.
